Ellen Kissed A Girl (And She Liked It)

…but we knew that already. Katy Perry was on the Ellen DeGeneres Show on Thursday and she sang in the bathroom concert series – a part of the show where Ellen invites guests to sing duets with her in the bathroom. The song of choice was, of course, I Kissed A Girl.  AfterEllen wrote about this and they pointed out some choice moments where Ellen makes good use of her facial expressions, making her the queen of subtleties:

0:31 — “It’s not what I’m used to.” (Ellen smirks, fake-winces, and rolls her eyes.)

0:48 — “I kissed a girl and I liked it.” (Ellen enthusiastically nods in agreement.)

0:57 — “I hope my boyfriend don’t mind it.” (Ellen puts her finger to her lips and pretends to look guilty.)

1:34 — “It’s not what good girls do.” (Ellen smiles, nods her head and gestures sarcastically with her eyebrows while Katy Perry is making a “no no” sign with her pointer finger.)

Uh Huh Her Walks With A Unicorn and Katy Perry Brainwashes Me

Firstly, remember not that long ago when I wrote about how much I HATE that song I Kissed a Girl by Katy Perry. I still stand by all that and think that the lyrics are offensive…

But DAMN that’s a catchy tune! I can’t get it out of my head! and it’s now on my iPod and I’m singing it. I hate myself for becoming I giant hypocrite but there you are, I am one. I get mad at myself every time I sing it, but it’s a really catchy tune.

 

Secondly, and more importantly…

Uh Huh Her released a music video of one of my favourite of their songs, Not A Love Song. In this video they walk the streets of downtown with a unicorn.  I want a unicorn to hang out with, but apparently,  only a select few get ones, and Leisha Hailey and Camila Grey are some of them. And without further ado, one of my favourite music videos of all time:

 

I Kissed a Girl..and made an annoying and offensive song about it

Everyone has heard that new song I Kissed A Girl (by who knows?), right? I am assuming so because I have heard it which is rare. It seems to be pretty popular too. which SUCKS!

When I don’t like songs I usually understand that other people have different tastes in music and things but when it comes to this one it’s the lyrics that are the part that I don’t like. I find them just plain offensive, really.

 

Listen to the song. “It’s not what good girls do, not how they should behave.”  Well of course because being a lesbian is so wrong, right?? Sure. Then there’s “I hope my boyfriend don’t mind it.” Yes, well I don’t really know what to say about that, it is pretty self-explanatory. Because every girl that kisses a girl is really straight and is simply either doing it for her boyfriend’s benefit or heavily intoxicated…which she also says. And lastly (there’s probably more but I’m not going to listen to that song again unless forced.) she says “I don’t even know your name but it don’t matter.” because all lesbian relationships are superficial and mean nothing. They are all just experimental curiosity.

 Because lesbians love to be science projects…

That really pisses me off. Thanks, but no thanks, we’ll take out publicity back and put it in the hands of someone who actually has any grasp on the subject. Maybe P!nk should make a song…
