i haven’t been here for a while. it’s because it’s summer and such, and i’ve been to cottages and away.

i’ve been photoshopping lots of things too. and taking many pictures. my childhood love for photography is coming back to me due to my obsession with deviantART and my ability to manipulate my photos with my newly discovered photoshop skills. i just made my own version of an a softer world comic. here it is:

i’m ridiculously proud of that.

i’ve also been listening to neutral milk hotel nonstop this summer. i love them. they’re fantastic. them and explosions in the sky. thats been my summer soundtrack.

other than that my summer has been pretty much like everyone else’s really. hot. boring (at times). amazing. awful. fantastic.

i’m all caught up on my buffy comics. i have all the omnibuses and all of season 8 so far. i even bought buffy panel to panel. it’s amazing.

i hope everyone else is having a fantastic summer!

i was looking for pictures of willow on googles images a couple days ago (so that i could make this lovely artwork) and i came across the greatest picture of willow. here it is:

looks like it’s too late for me, but the rest of you had better stop reading, or you could end up a lesbian or a witch.

We all know who would win. Now, with the help of fantastic editing we can see it happen. This video makes me laugh every time I watch it.

My favourite part is when Buffy wakes up and just says “get out.”

And that editing was absolutely amazing, was it not?

Dear President’s Choice,

I have been a loyal customer to you for as long as I can remember. Every time we go up to my grandmother’s house we have eaten your chocolate fudge crackle ice cream as a tradition. We even go to the farthest grocery store (The Great Canadian Superstore) to buy your products.

But now you have betrayed me.

I was working on some photoshop pictures on the couch when I recieved that dreaded phone call from my grandmother.

“Just wanted to let you know” she said, “that they cancelled the chocolate fudge crackle ice cream.” My heart fell. I had heard about the unreliability of president’s choice before. My mother always quoted horror stories about getting attached to a discontinued product. But these are things that happen in stories. You never think that they will happen to yourself until it actually does.

There are countless childhood memories surrounding this ice cream. Visits with my grandmother, her moving into her new house, watching movies together on the pull-out couch, teaching her how to play dance-dance revolution, sitting outside on a hot summer day or inside on a cold winter day. Chocolate fudge crackle was always there. I grew up with this ice cream, and took it for granted. Now it is gone.

RIP chocolate fudge crackle, you will be dearly missed.

Every time I make a plan it always ALWAYS falls though. Even when I plan it so far in advance things couldn’t possibly be planned already on that day.

But alas, the universe hates my plans.

So tonight, like every year, I invited a bunch of friends over to watcht The American Theatre Wing Tony Awards with me.

And tonight, like every year, they all canceled within an hour before they started and I was stuck with tons of extra food.

Why does this always happen? They’re my friends, they are not avoiding me, of that I am certain. Things just come up last minute to spite me.

Is there anyone else this happens to?

The story of Little Red Riding Hood always amused me. In elementary school it was fun to watch the other kids stuggle with the ending. Is it ok that the wolf is dead? Are we supposed to be happy? Anyway, here is the classic tale, but a little revised. My favourite is the big bad scary wolf.

So after watching meekakitty’s video, i decided to watch one of heykelsey’s videos. Now, i don’t really like the musical side of YouTube either, but I really liked her music, and her voice is absolutely beautiful.

That is my favourite one of her songs. At least of the ones I’ve listented to so far. I also really liked the Twilight one (heaven forbid i like something to do with Twilight…).

I’ve realized that I say ‘kind of’ a lot when i don’t really mean it. Like that “kind of sucks” or something is ‘kind of awesome’. why do i do this? i don’t mean kind of awesome. i mean YES, this IS awesome.

so if i say kind of don’t take me seriously.

Tonight the play that I’m helping with right now opens, and I think you should all come see it.

It’s called There Goes The Bride and here is the description:

When harassed advertising executive Timothy Westerby hits his head on the morning of his daughter’s society wedding, he awakens the company of Polly Perkins, a 1920’s Flapper girl straight out of his current advertising campaign. It’s soon clear that no one else can see or hear Polly. And when another bump on the head transports Timothy back to 1926 and the Savoy Hotel, the wedding plans disintegrate into chaos. I’m helping with costumes backstage, so I get to do up a wedding dress and help people with their shoes. It’s not the most exciting show to be doing costumes on, but it’s fun.

Today I decided it was time to learn how to operate iMovie, as I have had my lovely  Macbook, Amelie, since September of last year. I put together a shabbily edited video consisting of the Willow and Tara clips that I just happened to already have on my computer. I did this in the car on the way to my Mum’s house from my Dad’s.

I personally hate searching for clips from your favourite television shows and just finding a bunch of music videos, despite the few good ones that occaisonally come along, but that didn’t stop me from adding my own to the mix. It’s a really great song, so it’s not that bad?

Overall I like iMovie. It wasn’t that difficult to use, but it did freeze a few times. It could just be because I imported quite a few episodes (more than the ones that ended up in the video) so there was a lot of media for it to sort through. It unfroze quite quickly too…and it will always be better than Windows Media Player. I really hate that program.
