I have found the best lesbian television character ever. Regina Barnes on Out of Practice. The show only aired for a short time in 2005, but it is my favourite sitcom. What’s cool about Regina is that she is funny and witty and normal. She is not crazy or a killer, and she doesn’t end up dead. She is a doctor that works in the ER. Her family’s teasing banter about her sexuality just shows how accepting they are towards her. It is nice that Regina is past all of the coming-out drama. She has a funny relationship with her mother and she gets some pretty good lines, even though she is not the main character in the show.
Regina is played by Paula Marshall. Out of Practice used to air on CBS.
